Everyone has it everyone HATES it, but how do you lose cellulite. The good news is even thin people have it/ It is one of the most common questions I get from my clients. First off Let’s define Cellulite, Subcutaneous fat causing dimpling in the skin, more common for women. Subcutaneous fat is under the skin fat storage as opposed to visceral fat which is store in the abdominal cavity.
What causes Cellulite?
It can be caused from a poor diet, gaining body fat over time, lack of exercise or resistance training. This can all be reversed! Here are 5 ways to help you decrease that cellulite.
Caloric deficit: You need to start cutting what you are eating down to lose some weight. You will find if you eat the right foods to metabolize fat in your body, you wont have to necessarily feel like you are losing out on food, If face when i teach my clients how to eat for fat loss, they find it’s more food than they thought they were allowed to eat. If you need more guidance and accountability for this join my 21 day challenge.
Resistance training: Not only does resistance training gives you a sleeker and leaner look as you slim down. It increases your metabolism allowing you to intake more calories over time to maintain weight. Resistance training also tightens up your skin so that you see less cellulite.
Collagen and hyaluronic acid: If you are over 30 and don’t have these in your cabinet RUN and get them now. These two, when used together are super charged skin tightening. Their main use is bringing hydration to the skin and decreasing wrinkles. As we age over time we lose collagen in our skin causing it to sag or become wrinkled. Collagen goes in and tightens skin allowing it to look more youthful. It is a physiological process so it takes some time for you to see the effects. I get mine off amazon its the best price I have found. I take mine powder form but some people prefer pills (click on Pictures below for link)l. If you decide to take collagen in powder form, you must also supplement a vitamin c for maximal absorption.
( disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any supplement company but I do do get pennies to recommend products on amazon that I find are valuable to my clients.)
Water: Water is our most abundant sources it makes up 60-70% of our body, did you know that? So when we take it bad foods, toxic materials thru our body or we go thru fat loss, we need water to flush it all out. I recommend to my clients to take in at least 96 oz of water a day. Increase activity: I have found since I have started my business from home, raising my daughter and not running around training clients all day. that my physical activity overall has gone down, even with workouts. If you have a desk job I am sure you have noticed the lbs creep on over time. Here are some suggestions to get in more activity throughout the day.
Get a pedometer or app on your phone that tracks your daily movements
park far away
take the stairs
find a work buddy to stay accountable
take walks at lunch time
use a standing desk to work at
