12 awesome products you NEED at the gym
I have been in the gym since i was 16. I love it. I have been a trainer for 10 years now and I have my necessities for the gym. Here are my favorite 12 awesome products you can use at the gym!
1 Foam Roller
If you haven’t invested in one of these yet, you are doing yourself a disservice! Foam rollers are best for SMR or Self Myofascial release.When you get a massage, this is basically what they are doing They have these at my gym but I have one at home. I am pretty sure they never clean those, so gross! If you are a beginner them i would suggest the smoother foam roller to start out with. The textured Roller can be more targeted and a little more painful, in the good way. It takes work to smooth those muscles out. I roll my neck, IT band, glutes and everything. It feels amazing!
2. Pre-workout
This is one of the most asked questions in my Free weight loss group. What i use for pre-workout. I have two one is a stimulant free and the other blast you with energy. I only use the Razor 8 on days that I am doing High intensity workouts like legs, intervals or sprints. It also has creatine which i try to limit my use on, It can cause a lot of water retention, which I don’t need . Pre-workout can make a difference in going hard on your workout or giving up when you think its too hard.
3. Gym bag
I have moved, what it feels like 50 times in the past 8 years. Each time my gym bag gets misplaced, it is the first thing i need to have to go to the gym. These Nike bags (women’s and men’s) are my favorite just put what you need in there, grab in on your way out the door and GO!
4. Your own personal gym towel
I know they wash the ones at the gym. But when I think of the butt cracks that touched this towel. It makes me want to bath in Lysol! So do your hygiene a favor and get your own personal towel.
5. Shoes
I am not pro one brand i have tried them all. This past summer i bought my first pair of Under Armour shoes and i couldn’t believe how light they were! Look at the description the shipping weight is only 9 oz’s! I like the look of the men’s shoes as well.
6. Wrist straps
Yes I have pink wrist straps! These come useful for when you want to lift for power or legs and you don’t want your upper body to take on the weight. Pretty much Every leg day I use this the whole workout. It takes the pressure off my forearms and shoulders from lifting the heavy weight. Today for example, I ended the workouts with lunges, my last set i was holding 50lbs dumbells in each hand. The wrist straps helped me to focus on just using my legs instead of feeling fatigue for my upper body.
7. Leggings!
I love a good pair of leggings. This fit nice around the waist. I don’t like tightness around my waist.
8. Shaker cup
Mine starts as a pre-workout shaker, then water cup and last a post workout protein shake 🙂 This one is so cute too!
9. Hip Thrust or squat pad
I don’t use the pad for squats but I do use this for Hip Thrusts. That heavy barbell really hurts my pelvic bones, And i would like to preserve all my lady parts down there 🙂
10. Sassy graphic tee
Let everyone know how you really feel with a cute graphic tank.
11. Protein Powder
After your workout you want to help your body recover, protein powder is the quickest way to do so. Best taken up to 45 mins after a workout
12. Lock
Because people be stealing SHIT use a lock!
